The septagram is a seven pointed star. I was just wondering if it had any magickal uses. I read on work on it where each points was labeled. Sun, forest, sea, magic, moon, wind and spirit. He mentioned it as being called the Elevn or fairy star. Problem is that the author was a bit unreliable, as he believd that water and earth could not mix and that the chalice was the sign of satan. Any thoughts?

I have heard it used to work with the fae and no more as a passing word about it called the elven star. It is used by those in the therian and otherkin communities to identify themselves. I have come across quite a few who use it with anything that has 7 in the symbolisim: ancient astrological magick, the 7 ancient planets, those who use 7 elements, etc. Much like on this site Byzant Symbols - The Septagram (http://www.byzant.com/Mystical/Symbols/Septagram.aspx)
as he believd that water and earth could not mix
-I've heard it as fire and water cannot mix from the alchemy courses. I've never come across the claim about water and earth.
the chalice was the sign of satan.
-I don't have a personal symbolism for either in this statement so no thoughts on the claim lol Perhaps it's around the assumption that females are evil, original sin, chalice and inverted triangles being associated with women. Really long stretch but not too inventive when groggy

The 7 points are supposed to be connected to specific ancestors of the Fae (to collectively clump together all of those sentient nature based creatures). I don't remember all of them. I only remember Spirit is Ilana.
Also drawing it would be more difficult as 360/7 isn't even. 7 Is also thought by some to be a 'perfect' number.
Yes. It isn't even. 7 is perfect because it is the ruin of symmetry which allows the spirit to come forth... but it does not direct or transform that spirit.

Thanks for all your helpfull replies. Who said it was hard to draw? Just draw 7 evenly spaced dots in a rough circle, then choose one dot (i normaly go for the top dot) now draw lines to coneect every other dot, so say we numbered them youd go 1,3,5,7,2,4,6.
