In Norse myth, Huninn ("thought") and Muninn ("memory") are the two main stays of the Chief God Odin

It is said and believed that Odin would send the ravens Huninn and Muninn out every mourning to fly over the earth, returning at night to sit upon his shoulders and tell him what they saw and heard.

Odin is the god of war and of death as well as the god of wisdom and poetry.

As he hung for nine days pierced with his own spear he learned nine powerful songs and eighteen runes and is the watcher over nine worlds

Odin can make the dead speak and question the wisest amongst them.

From this throne he observes all that happens in the nine worlds. The tidings are brought to him by his two raven Huginn and Muninn. He also resides in Valhalla, where the slain warriors are taken.

Odin's attributes are the spear Gungnir, which never misses its target, the ring Draupnir, from which every ninth night eight new rings appear, and his eight-footed steed Sleipnir. He is accompanied by the wolves Freki and Geri, to whom he gives his food for he himself consumes nothing but wine. Odin has only one eye, which blazes like the sun. His other eye he traded for a drink from the Well of Wisdom, and gained immense knowledge. On the day of the final battle, Odin will be killed by the wolf Fenrir.
Wednesday is named after him (Wodan).

I will. I am Greek Mythology crazy but have started getting more and more into Norse.

heheh nice one odin. anyway i think i should explain my name Balpheron. it from a game... Neverwinter Nights. there is an elven dude that sacrificed whole village to become undead. his undead form is one of a lich, but instead of domain over ice and death, this type of lich has its domain over fire.

anyway my favorite norse god is Tyr. brave, self-sacrificing, wise. tho i have read somewhere else that his weapons is sword not spear, but it really doesnt matter. i think he is the original idea of paladins.

My favorite is Heimdall , son of nine mothers. His horse was Goldtop. He blew his horn at Ragnarok to announce the coming of the end of time. He died fighting Loki. I liked the fact he had second sight and could see to the ends of the worlds.

Thanks for the resources. I have always been fascinated with Norse culture, Freya in particular. Some time ago, when I was more active on my path, I had several vivid dreams about Freya and I have always felt close to her. The dreams had little, if anything to do with particular Norse mythology, but somehow I knew it was her. I'm looking forward to learning more.
