Thread: looking for book....

I am looking for a book with ancient spells with the spells in an ancient language. Can't remember the title but I do know it is not "Necronomica". That is about all I can remember about the book. Thanks for any help.

Although that sounds like a book I'd like to read, (after reading the wiki on it), I don't think that's the one I'm looking for. If I remember correctly, and I might not, It was about someone, maybe Arab, who wandered through the desert and was given or came across this info. I do remember that the spells were not complicated or involved, simple mirror and candles. I DO remember for sure that they were in a foreign/maybe ancient language. Thank you for your help!

i am not sure but that really sounds like the Necronomicon. There are several versions of it. The Necronomicon is full of spells in sumerian by the "mad arab". It has a companion book the necronomicon spell book.

Perhaps the Ghayat al-Hikam (Picatrix)?

I know it sounds like the necronomicon. Thinking that, I bought a version of the necronomicon spellbook but it was not it. And like Iza said, most of those are fakes anyway. And maybe that is why I think it was about an Arab because I am confusing the two. Or maybe it was the real necronomicon. I do remember that unlike the necronomicon version that I bought, this had spells that were at least half a page long, again in a different language. Is there anywhere to preview sections of some of the books some of you have mentioned (ie:Ghayat al-Hikam)? I don't mind buying one at all if it's the right one, just don't want to keep buying the wrong useless ones. Thanks to all for all your help!

As mentioned by EtuMalku, if the book that you are referring to is of Arabian origin that it has to be "The sacred magic of Abramelin the mage". I guess you should get it on Scribd.com. I have it with me, but honestly, I'm sorry for not being able to upload it because I'm keeping too busy these days. But will definitely assist you with a .pdf copy as soon as I'm done with my busy schedule.
