Not trying to be offensive, but this is only your perception of reality.
Really, the tons of different schools tend to be useful in my opinion because they are all of the same current... thus a person can pick and choose what is real and what isn't and define their own beliefs while still following the same current of self-empowerment. Not a lot of satanists really ''shun'' others based on the principle of how they believe... it is more of the means that they don't necessarily agree, which is okay, everyone has the right to agree or disagree.
As to changing sides between Left and Right-Hand paths... really... I think people need a bit of both. We occasionally need to rest, to become chaotic, to ''reboot'' in order to go and fully function... this typically is experienced as a loss of self or an extreme focus in the subjective. The Left Hand Path however makes the focus on the individual because, many people tend to either believe something is the center of the universe, or that everything is one, or that the only thing that exists is whatever they are currently focused on... this is a delusion and it creates stagnation and decay in an individual if they don't seek to change and improve themselves. In the right hand path, they realize that a person can't stay in that state of mind because of survival and such... and thus they say that anything that hinders a person is evil. The Word has lost power for this reason. Society and the world around us is too active and changing... the focus on the subjective can no longer be a functional tool because daily living requires too much activity and conscious participation.
I wrote a post in spiritual satanism called ''Geifodd's definition of satanism'' which basically lays down the principles behind satanism.
