Thread: Becoming a Theistic Satanist

Hello All,

The main reason I am a theistic Satanist is because of my experience of becoming a theistic Satanist. Let me explain: before choosing my path, I dabbled in a variety of Satanisms, all of which had their good points for sure, but none of which were completely fulfilling. I became aware of Diane Vera's theistic Satanism website a couple years ago, and after months of mental questioning and preparation, decided to dedicate myself to Satan. I've never been the same, and I know that Satan is a real being because I feel him and his power inside me. I am the same person, but my Lord, Satan, now resides in me (as a spiritual being), just as he does in all his worshipers. Our Lord, Satan, is very real, and only experience can prove it.

Reading your post, it seems like I have had a similar way of going about things before coming to Satanism. I was just wondering, when you talk about dedicating yourself to Satan, do you mean like an informal, personal understanding that you have become a satanist? Or do you mean more like a formal blasphemy ritual designed to permanently bind to Satan?

This site is proliferated with this sort of fascist propaganda. If thats what you believe i suppose more power to you, but I'll enjoy my Satanism with a nice warm cup of rationalism.

I call myself a satanist & yet I don't feel the need to 'worship' Satan as of now & hence I don't. The way I do 'magick' is by actually 'doing something'- taking up challenges, testing myself & being the adversary of all my weaknesses, that is the way I worship Satan.
Of course, I do believe in magick/rituals & in near future I wish to tap into that power. I look at him as my equal or an archetype but I am not a Laveyan satanist. I guess I am more of a spiritual satanist rather than a theistic satanist.
Which rituals do you use? For some reason, ceremonial magick/rituals don't appeal to me. Diane's website is still good though.

Okay ding-dongs didn't think this was going to have to be necessary but I will spoon feed it to you, go to the joy of Satan home page, click on "Links", go to "Order of the black sun" and wa-lah, you have neo nazi propaganda. Think its' some big misunderstanding, then go to sermons, Click on "high" priest Willard's page, it will be laden with swastikas, not the enlightened type, but the straight up Nazi type. Go next to "High" priest Jake Carlson's ministry, you will find it laden with Anti-Semitic, neo nazi style pandering.
As satanists, we believe in responsibility to the responsible. If you are a Neo Nazi, More power to you, if you are not, and you are genuinely trusting this site, you should be aware of it's ulterior motive.

Perhaps we can simplify, as required.

For any who might have considered that it has been suggested that Diane Vera's site and the Joy of Satan's site are "the same people", of course they are not.

I would imagine anyone over the (intellectual) age of 18, with any capacity for basic undergrad research, would already be well-enough aware of JoS' neo-nazi proclivities.

Perhaps there is a problem with the way the thread is organised, or people's various communication capacities, but let's clarify.

Diane's theisticsatanism.com site is in no way related to the Joy of Satan.

If you make a mistake, accept it like a man & move on, doesn't make you small. Those two websites are completely different & Diane openly disagrees with many beliefs of the JOS. Perhaps the confusion arises because they both have some links or some third party links on their websites which connect to some pages hosted at Free Website Hosting – Angelfire free website templates to make your own free website but they don't own anything mutually.
